The NETGEAR genie app is an easy way to manage, monitor, and repair your home network--from the palm of your hand. While on your home network, the NETGEAR genie app allows you to access router features with your mobile device. You can access the following router settings using the NETGEAR genie app: wireless settings, network map, Parental Controls, guest access, traffic metering, MyMedia, and more.

• Easily control your home network through the genie dashboard

• Stream music and video files anywhere in your network from your smartphone or tablet

• Securely connect smart phones and tablets to your home wireless network with a QR code thanks to EZ Mobile Connect

• Get analytics about your WiFi home network using the WiFi Analytics feature


The NETGEAR genie app does not work if your mobile device is connected to the router’s guest network.

The NETGEAR genie only works when your mobile device is connected to a NETGEAR router that is in router mode, not in access point mode.

The NETGEAR genie app does not work with a wireless extender or repeater.

The NETGEAR genie app currently does not support IPv6. If IPV6 is enabled, logging in to the router using the genie app will fail.

  I have had my wireless router about 5 years. I had to do a hard reset due to my PC failing. I down loaded the app to my phone. The app says it no longer supports the device. I download the app it says download it also States my device is not supported. I will go purchase a new device on Friday! From your Competitor! Never again will I purchase anything NetGear!

  This app WAS working great for a while. It was great as it let me easily manage my network from my phone. Now it no longer shows the network map correctly, doesn't acknowledge (or let me manage) my guest network, doesn't show info related to my main network including name. Originally thought issue could be with my network, but its just fine when viewing from computer. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling app/checking for updates with no change. Uninstalling....again.

  How @##@!!!. This app is the worst. Spent 30 minutes trying to "log in". The company website says I don't have an internet connection when I am linked to THEIR product!!!!! Inconceivably bad.

  Awful, the app never connects to my router at all. It never seemed to realise I was on the network. It was much quicker to just access the router via the admin page via a browser.

  Absolutely terrible. You do have anyware near the level of control that your got compared to the web interface, and im not talking about advanced settings just the basics. Use the PC based app, its much better.
