Description

The XX Brazilian Sports Science Congress and VII International Sports Science Congress will take place between 17 and 21 September 2017 on the campus of Fern Federal University of Goiás in Goiânia / GO. We have adopted, for this edition, the image of yellow ipe blooming during the drought that characterizes the month of September in the cerrado. The extensive program of the event is structured around the following theme: "Democracy and Emancipation: Challenges for Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Latin America."
On the theme adopted for the event:
According to the diagnosis of the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman, one of (d) effects of the current globalization is the radical separation between the capital and the policy or, what amounts to the same, the complete subsumption of politics, yet distinctly local, the rules of an economy with extraterritorial powers. As a result, the pressures of neoliberal market are replacing the political law at the same time that the public sphere is being colonized (and unregulated) by private. It is in this context that the normative substance of democratic institutional order is emptied, the sociologist in urges to build a new public agenda Emancipation to contain the spread of those (d) effects of globalization in Latin America and discuss the challenges they present Physical Education and the Sports Science. Such challenges are embodied, for example, proposed as the management of Social Organizations (OS) in health and education, militarization of public schools, disqualification and streamlining the production of knowledge and various threats to the constitutional rights of access to health , education, sport and leisure. Moreover, this time the field is called to reflect on the ongoing transformations in the curricula of basic education, on DCN's physical education and on graduate paths indicated by the policies of CAPES and Area 21 specific issues which are also permeated by the general political situation and deserve contextualized reflections by current political agendas in Latin America.
