الوسواس القهري (أو: الاضطراب الوسواسي القهري obsessive - compulsive) هو نوع من الاضطرابات المرتبطة بالقلق (Anxiety)، تتميز بأفكار ومخاوف غير منطقية (وسواسية) تؤدي إلى تصرفات قهريّة. الأشخاص المصابون باضطراب الوسواس القهري يكونون، أحيانًا، واعين لحقيقة أن تصرفاتهم الوسواسية هي غير منطقية، ويحاولون تجاهلها أو تغييرها. لكن هذه المحاولات تزيد من احتدام الضائقة والقلق أكثر. وفي المحصلة، فإن التصرفات القهرية هي، بالنسبة إليهم، إلزامية للتخفيف من الضائقة. وقد يتمحور اضطراب الوسواس القهري، في أحيان متقاربة، في موضوع معيّن، كالخوف من عدوى الجراثيم، مثلا. فبعض المصابين باضطراب الوسواس القهري، ولكي يشعروا بأنهم آمنون، يقومون، مثلا، بغسل أيديهم بشكل قهري، إلى درجة أنهم يسببون الجروح والندوب الجلدية لأنفسهم. وعلى الرغم من المحاولات والجهود المبذولة، إلا إن الأفكار المزعجة، الوسواسيّة - القهريّة، تتكرر وتواصل التسبب بالضيق والانزعاج. وقد يؤدي الأمر إلى تصرّفات تأخذ طابع المراسم والطقوس، تمثل حلقة قاسية ومؤلمة تميز اضطراب الوسواس القهري
عراض الوسواس القهري الوسواسية:
الأعراض الوسواسية هي أفكار وتخيّلات متكررّة مرارًا، عنيدة ولا اراديّة، أو دوافع لا إراديّة تتسم بأنها تفتقر إلى أي منطق. هذه الوساوس تثير الإزعاج والضيق، عادة، عند محاولة توجيه التفكير إلى أمورٍ أخرى، أو عند القيام بأعمال أخرى.
وتتمحور هذه الوساوس، بشكل عام، حول موضوع معيّن، مثل:
الخوف من الاتساخ أو التلوّث
الحاجة إلى الترتيب والتناظر
رغبات عدوانية جامحة
أفكار أو تخيّلات تتعلق بالجنس
وتشمل الأعراض المرتبطة بالوسواس:
خوف من العدوى نتيجة لمصافحة الآخرين، آو لملامسة أغراض تم لمسها من قِبَل الآخرين
شكوك حول قفل الباب، أو إطفاء الفرن
أفكار حول التسبب بأذى لآخرين في حادثة طرق
