The HDHomeRun app requires an HDHomeRun tuner to watch Live TV on your Android phone, tablet, or Android TV box.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Compatible HDHomeRun device:
HDHomeRun CONNECT, EXTEND, EXPAND, or PRIME
Legacy model HDHomeRuns like the DUAL will support Live TV streaming; however, DVR is not supported.
• DVR features (including pause and rewind) will require the HDHomeRun DVR:

Fix ac4 crash.
Fix stall when seeking.
Fix last seconds of recording not displayed.
Fix captions not displayed in last seconds of recording.
Fix rewinding within 15 seconds from end of recording stopped playback.
Fix audio started playing 2 seconds after video when seeking some ATSC 3.0 content.
Add parental control for ATSC 1.0 & 3.0 (ATSC 3.0 requires HDHomeRun firmware 20230713 or newer).

  This application is terrible, on a network with hd homerun this app fails to find it and UI has no functionality to resolve. I have to use Plex or VLC to stream from the device on my network because those applications actually find it properly.

  Been running the app for around 2 years via a Nvidia Shield. Has on going sound sync issues that is usually cured with an annoying restart. Sometimes it'll just lock up for 5-10mins with no solution, just have to wait for it to correct itself. Added a Chromecast Google TV and the app freezes every 10-15mins have to select another channel to get it running again. These are expensive tuners should be trouble free. Also having to pay a subscription for DVR and 7 day guide is bs. Not recommended.

  Does not work can't find the tuner even though it's on the network, don't waste your money

  Just states can't find device. I know it's there and working because my linux laptop finds it. It's a HDHR-US the model with two antenna inputs.

  When it starts up on my Pixel 4, it tells me I'm not connected to my network and says it can't find my HDHomerun EXTEND box. Apparently my PC, which runs the Channels DVR software, along with iPad and Fire stick clients have no problem finding it. And yes my phone is connected to WiFi. Does this mean I have to sign up for the DVR service first?
