Description of Vy

Use the Vy app to easily find suggested travel itineraries using trains, buses, taxis, metro, trams, and boats. You can buy tickets from Vy and other operators, and book taxi rides.
Vy aims to make it easy to travel in a way that is environmentally friendly from door to door – not just between stations and bus stops.
What can I do in the app?
• Buy train and bus tickets, as well as season tickets
• Get travel itineraries by searching for stations, bus stops, addresses and locations such as hotels or restaurants
• Book a taxi in most parts of Norway
• Find the nearest available city car
• Track your train live on the map via the journey planner
• Find out how busy each carriage is so that you can plan where to get on the train
• Receive notification of changes or deviations affecting your departure (trains only)
• Receive travel updates
• Under 'My trips' you can see all your completed, active and future journeys and you can also import tickets bought by someone else
• Store your favourite routes and set up notifications for traffic-related messages
• You can buy zone tickets and tickets for extra zones under 'Buy now' from Ruter, Brakar, Skyss, Kolumbus and other operators
• Notification before your season ticket expires
• Pay by card or Vipps

  Don't buy tickets until you are on the train. The refund process is not well thought through and they will end up taking your money rather than accommodate you in even the most basic refund request. In my case I wanted to cancel my purchase immediately (within 1 minute) after buying the ticket. There is no grace period. You're better off buying a ticket from the attendant on the train.

  Thought I was experiencing a problem with where I was at, turns out the app was experiencing a problem with ANY station. NO stations showing, unable to show me any information whatsoever regarding the trip I am planning. Quite useless.

  I had tremendous difficulties trying to reserve tickets at the lowest prices, even when I tried to reserve 3 months in advance. It makes me wonder if the lowest priced tickets were already booked by some more privileged groups or customers.

  I installed this app to buy tickets for me and my husband. Unfortunately I didn't find the option to change the number of passengers. It was only 1 by default. However it is possible to increase the number on the website. So, I genuinely don't see a point in downloading the app.

  Cancelled my ticket due to "invalid date" and customer service was equally useless, asking me to uninstall and reinstall the app to no effect.

  Awful scam of an app. If you buy a ticket and there is a cancellation you'll be lucky to get anything back. Stick with your normal ticket machines, at least you can be refunded when there are problems in your travel. As we are in "crisis" with the virus travel issues may pop up, so if you want to be compensated or like me just naturally expect a full refund when your train doesn't get where it's ment to go then AVOID this app.
