THE PLATE TECTONICS
Six animations to understand everything about plate tectonics, used by SVT (college):
1- PLATES: Animation for situating the distribution of earthquakes and volcanoes and therefore the limits of the main plates, and their traveling speeds.
2 EXPANSION OCEAN: Animation for understanding the operation of an ocean ridge, causing seafloor spreading (divergence of movement) and effusive volcanism.
3- SUBDUCTION: Animation for understanding the operation of an ocean trench at the origin of the phenomenon of subduction (convergence movement) and explosive volcanism.
4- COLLISION: Animation for understanding the formation of mountain chains following the collision between two lithospheric plates (convergence movement).
5- HOT SPOTS: Animation for understanding volcano alignment behind a hot spot, from the example of the island of Reunion.
CONTINENTAL DRIFT 6: Animation showing the waltz of the continents increased (from - 250 million years to present) and future (today to 30 million years ago).
