Description

Soil and Land information are basic requirements for sustainable agricultural development. Farmers need basic soil nutrient information. Department of Soil Survey & Soil Conservation, Government of Kerala, has come out with an innovative mobile application in collaboration with Geo-informatics division of IIITM-K.
The mobile application on mannu (soils) - MAM (Mannine Ariyaam Mobileiloode) gives the required soil information to the farmers with a single touch. There is no need of any data entry. The application fetches the nutrient information pertaining to the current location of the device. Information of the major & micro nutrients and the acidity available in the database of the department will be available to the farmer.
This is a pilot project done for Varavoor panchayath of Thrissur District, Kerala and will be made available throughout the state by the next World Soil Day.

This app looks nothing a Google map as there is no any option for students to login or visit on mannu website and get information about academic activities as there are various facilities in the apps of other universities. This app opens directly takes us to Google map showing various places which is meaning less for us. Rather there should be option to login and sign up using date of as password and email or phone user ID for students to view there academic record and to receive alerts.

Awesome app but i think the govt should provide information on where to get the soil physically tested. For example, many people here sell the soil from their lands. What remains is less nutrient soil. Going by this app, it will give wrong info.
