Description

Malta’s largest science and arts festival is back with plenty of surprises. Save the date for the 28 September in Valletta from 6pm till midnight.
This year’s theme is Science is Culture, to celebrate the European Year of Cultural Heritage and Valletta’s European Capital of Culture. Science shapes all aspects of culture, from communication to different art forms, health, food and technology.
We have over 30 activities happening on the night from art installations to exhibitions, science theatre to shadow puppetry, science film festivals to maths music concerts, street performances to live experiments.
Science in the City is working with the Valletta 2018 Foundation to feature new larger than life interactive installations around the Triton Fountain and St. George’s Square. Maltese researchers are collaborating with Maltese and Vienesse artists to create mice that can be driven around Triton, high tech augmented reality art works, and transforming our ideas of carbon, the human body, and Malta’s history.
Another main attraction is a number of international science theatre and music performances over the weekend. More details released with the full programme.
And remember this year’s message: everyone starts at zero. We are born with practically no knowledge of the world around us but we all can achieve, especially when we learn in creative and fun ways.
