Description

Welcome to Sanctuary of Hope!
We are nonprofit that is dedicated to serving young adults 18-24 who are transitioning from the child welfare system or at-risk of homelessness.
Our primary mission is to provide a caring and multi-cultural approach to services that will help young adults become self-sufficient and lead prosperous lives.
Giving "Hope"
Los Angeles County leads in the number of youth emancipating from the foster care system. The Department of Family and Children Services has over 45,000 youth in foster care. Approximately 2,000 youth emancipate each year; 25% become homeless; and less than 4% pursue secondary education. Unlike other areas of Los Angeles County, the highest concentration of foster youth emancipating are from the South Los Angeles region.
Tragically, there are very few resources that work to build on the aspirations and goals of young adults emancipating from the system due to a lack of cultural competency or social conditions. Therefore, we need to help them build their self-esteem and encourage them to achieve their dreams despite the odds.
Sanctuary of Hope lays the foundation of a successful future for these young adults. Housing them alone will not prevent them from transcending into homelessness or poverty. Therefore, we promote the valuable asset of a higher education to give them a competitive advantage to be among a skilled educated workforce in the global economy, pursue the American dream of long-term independence, and achieve access to opportunities.
Give our young emancipated adults "hope" by encouraging them to reach their aspirations. Invest in these young adults' future.
