YouTube Music

It's just a link to the YouTube app, in which I can find no way to search specifically for music -- the YouTube search returns both videos and music. And if I do manage to find a song, I'm not sure how to create a radio station based on that song. Very frustrating.

Trying to use this on my Android TV is a nightmare. I keep getting pushed into the YouTube app and the music section doesn't show my playlists. The only way I can get this to work on my TV now is to chromecast from my iPhone. This some hot garbage Google.

some aspects of the app/service are okay, and i appreciate that they mostly did an okay job at transitioning important features and functionality over from play music before forcing everyone to swap, but youtube music still just is not good from a user experience point of view. the interface is confusing and inconsistent. the way it hooks into my normal youtube video recommendations and ruins that experience too. the way it tries to tie music videos into music listening, which i NEVER want. The Android TV "version" of this app is even more offensive, given it's literally just a link to the "music" tab of the standard Youtube app, and lacks a ton of functionality for things like seeing my library, filtering by artist, shuffling music from my library, etc. not to mention the playback interface is boring as hell and almost completely static, which isn't great for some types of displays (oled) long term. I usually just end up casting from my phone, which at least has a dedicated app with more sane functionality. I really just wish that instead of throwing away GPM in favor of YTM, they had gone the opposite route instead. GPM had its own flaws, but GPM kept most of those flaws and added a bunch of new ones. Maybe it's time to go back and give other streaming services a shot...

its the worst music app ever

Update- Canceling my membership. Now the app won't remember the playlist I'm on and will randomly play other songs when I choose a playlist, same with my wife. DON'T download and I suggest others cancel their memberships until Google reverts back to the old Google Play Music. What a joke, I pay for this, not anymore. I loved Google Music, worked great and was quick. YouTube music is everything you would hate in a music streaming app, essentially it took everything good from Google Music and destroyed it. 1st - if you are using it on a computer better be ready to wait 5-10 seconds between songs if you decide to skip one. I skipped 5 times and it took over a minute of my life away. 2nd - The library on the Android app is useless. The widget may or may not work depending on what if feels like that day. So many issues it's hard to put them all in this review.

Версією для смартфонів користуюсь постійно, а ця просто максимально базтолкова. Просто перекидає на вкладку "музика" в додатку ютуб. Неможливо відтворювати музику у фоні (спотіфай таке вміє). Всі прослухані треки відображаються в історії ютубу (з додатку в смартфоні не відображаються) Не можна керувати відтворенням зі смартфона (знову ж, спотіфай таке вміє) Плейлисти не можна відредагувати "на ходу", не можна відтворити плейлист у випадковому порядку
