The kitchen literally means a place, usually in the house, where someone perform an activity process and provide food or food ingredient. Such activity is called with cooking. On the other hand, said the kitchen could also refer to this cooking activities and results than this activity.
The shape of the kitchen
Along with the development of culture and technology, the shape of the kitchen is also changing. Today's modern kitchen design follows the principle of triangles which states that 3 main functions of the kitchen is storage (such as refrigerators), preparation, and cooking. This principle emphasizes that among these three functions, not hinder each other but also within the three are not too far away.
Some common kitchen forms implemented include:
- All the above functions are placed on a wall so that this triangular principle be lysed (sedinding). This form is less effective but more save space.
- Other forms of the above functions, namely kitchen arranged on two opposite walls.
- The shape of the kitchen L, in which kitchen tools are placed in two intersecting wall (on the corner).
- Form U kitchen, which occupies three walls.
Sometimes, the kitchen also has a place that serves as a dining room as well.
