Description

Jawi keyboard for Android. This uses the current standard Unicode encoding for Jawi characters. This provide input method for Jawi characters. This keyboard is developed as an IME (input method editor) service. User need to setup virtual keyboard to use this IME.
This keyboard has two layers; Layer 1 consist of all 37 Jawi characters and 3 Jawi punctuation (comma, full stop and question mark). Layer 2 consist of Arabic numeral and additional symbols for Jawi writing.
After installing the application, you need to follow the following steps.
To use this keyboard, you need to;
1. Go to Setting
2. Choose System (Languages, Time,...)
3. Choose Language & input
4. Choose Keyboard & inputs
5. Choose Manage keyboards
6. Set "JawiUKM IME" to "on" position
If everything work, when you try to write, small "keyboard" icon will appear on the top taskbar. Choose this keyboard to switch to "JawiUKM IME" to write in Jawi.
This keyboard use Jawi Kaf and Jawi Kaf, instead of Arabic Kaf and Gaf. Visually, both type of kaf/gaf is similiar in the initial and medial position. But, Jawi Kaf/Gaf have a different shape in the final position.
