Description
Calung is a musical instrument prototypes kind idiofon made of bamboo. These instruments are known and developed in Banyumas and Sunda. Unlike the angklung played by shaken, how to beat calung is to hit the bar or segment (bamboo tubes) are arranged according to titi barrel (scales) pentatonic (da-mi-na-ti-la Sundanese people, and ji-ro -lu-ma-nem to society Banyumas). Calung of bamboo to manufacture most of Awi wulung (black bamboo), but some are made of Awi temen (bamboo ater, green).
Understanding calung than as a musical instrument is also attached as a performance art. There are two forms of calung known, namely calung rantay and calung tote.
