Chhath is a very old Hindu Vedic special celebration dedicated to the Hindu Sun God, Surya and Chhathi Maiya. Chhath Puja is a special celebration of truth, non-violence, state of mind where you no longer are angry at or want to punish someone and kindness.The Chhath Puja is performed in order to thank Surya for sustaining life on earth and to request the granting of certain wishes.
The Sun(Surya), thought about/believed as the god of energy and of the life-force, is worshiped during the Chhath special celebration (with fun events) to (help increase/show in a good way) well-being, richness and progress. In Hindu religion, Sun worship is believed to help cure some sicknesses, including (bad skin disease) and also helps secure/make sure of the long life and richness of family members, friends, and older (people).
