El Festival de la Tigra – Piedecuesta ruge nació en 2017 con el propósito de reactivar espacios para la cultura en el municipio de Piedecuesta, Santander a través de la producción de espectáculos en vivo, talleres y espacios de discusión que aportan al fortalecimiento de la escena musical y cultural de la región. En su programación se prioriza la presencia de proyectos locales y regionales con la participación de invitados nacionales e internacionales, sin restricciones de género o formato. Aunque su columna vertebral es la música, La Tigra celebra las artes en plural e incentiva a sus participantes a generar colaboraciones y espectáculos inéditos.
Piedecuesta es uno de los 3 municipios que constituyen el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, capital del departamento de Santander, en el nororiente colombiano. Si bien su relación con la ciudad es muy fuerte, el pueblo ha desarrollado dinámicas propias que la hacen un nodo importante de artistas y procesos culturales que, sin embargo, no tienen una infraestructura ni un circuito consolidado para desarrollarse. Uno de los objetivos principales del Festival de la Tigra es reclamar el buen funcionamiento de El Elefante Blanco. Así se conoce en el pueblo al Centro Cultural Daniel Mantilla Orbegozo, puesto que no ha cumplido con el objetivo para el cual fue construido: mantener una programación constante para ser el epicentro de la creación y el disfrute de la cultura.
En 2019, el Festival se mueve de enero a febrero con el fin de vincular a la población escolar a sus actividades. Les esperamos del 21 al 24 de febrero con todo el poder de este tercer rugido.
The Festival de la Tigra - Piedecuesta ruge was born in 2017 with the purpose of reactivating spaces for culture in the municipality of Piedecuesta, Santander through the production of live shows, workshops and discussion spaces that contribute to the strengthening of the music scene and cultural of the region. In its programming, the presence of local and regional projects is prioritized with the participation of national and international guests, without restrictions of gender or format. Although its backbone is music, La Tigra celebrates the arts in the plural and encourages its participants to generate collaborations and unprecedented shows.
Piedecuesta is one of the 3 municipalities that make up the metropolitan area of ​​Bucaramanga, capital of the department of Santander, in northeastern Colombia. Although its relationship with the city is very strong, the town has developed its own dynamics that make it an important node of artists and cultural processes that, however, do not have an infrastructure or a consolidated circuit to develop. One of the main objectives of the Festival de la Tigra is to claim the good functioning of El Elefante Blanco. This is how the Daniel Mantilla Orbegozo Cultural Center is known in the town, since it has not fulfilled the purpose for which it was built: to maintain constant programming to be the epicenter of the creation and enjoyment of culture.
