Federicus 2018 sviluppa la seconda tematica del programma triennale “Le donne e' cavalier, li affanni e li agi”. Dall'atmosfera languida degli amori cortesi si passa a scenari più impegnativi e drammatici che sanno di stridore di spade in battaglia, di lamento di miseria e carestia, di sudore nelle fucine o nei campi. Dai pulpiti tuoneranno le voci di predicatori che invitano a ritornare alla povertà del Vangelo, nei lebbrosari si assisterà al balletto di “sora nostra morte corporale”, mentre cerusici e frati porteranno cure e consolazioni ad emarginati di ogni sorta. Ovunque il visitatore respirerà l'aria solenne della storia, ma anche toccherà con mano la leggerezza necessaria di una festa nei quarti con i loro vicoli, colori, racconti e attrazioni; i cortei con i personaggi poveri e nobili, divertenti e seri, laici e religiosi, grandi e bambini che vi attendono per quattro giorni fuori dal tempo.
