The Internet Movie Database (IMDb, in Spanish Database Internet movie) is a database online that stores information related to movies, personal production equipment (including directors and producers), actors, television series, programs TV, video games, voice actors and, more recently, fictional characters featured in visual entertainment media. Receives more than 100 million unique visitors per month and has a mobile version users. IMDb was inaugurated on October 17, 1990, and in 1998 was acquired by Amazon.com.
It is a movie recommender system with a database where the full data (technical and artistic) of lots of movies, documentaries, short films, medium length films and television series.
Each film receives a calculated as the average of the scores received by users, who can also post their criticisms score. The latter can be voted by users who consult them to give greater importance to to provide more relevant information about movies.
