Description of My GeoPoints

Save and manage your geo points and find back to them offline by using compass navigation only.
Where did I park my car?
How do I find back to the place in the forest where the delicious mushrooms grow?
Where is my tourist bus waiting for me?
I am planning a sightseeing tour and would like to take notes concerning the locations I want to see. During the tour I want to navigate there.
The next time I visit my parents, I want to be reminded of asking for the book I have borrowed them.
The app “My GeoPoints” helps you.
Save your geo points by
- determining your location using GPS
- or entering an address
- or taking over the longitude and latitude of a photo
- or entering the longitude and latitude (DD.DDDDD° or DD°MM.MMM' or DD°MM'SS.S" or Open Location Code or UTM/UPS, MGRS)
- or taking over an address of your contacts
- or receiving the longitude and latitude or the address from social media
Find back to your geo point by
- being guided by the compass (sometimes called “radar”)
- or transferring the geo point to a navigation or map app
Set notifications which remind you of something at your next stay at a geo point.
Share your geo points through social media.
Assign a photo or picture to your geo point.
“My GeoPoints” does not show advertisements and needs only a few permissions:
- Exact localisation
- To take photos of the camera and transfer them to gallery, up to Android version 5.1 (Lollipop) the permission to read external memory is needed, up to Android version 4.3 (Jeally Beans) even the permission to write to it
- Auto start in case that you defined notifications
- Vibrating alarm
If you have enabled the Android Backup Service on your device, it can save your geo points.
“My GeoPoints” also works offline. The transformation of latitudes and longitudes into addresses and vice versa needs Internet access. This is not done by the app itself but via the Geocoder of the operating system.
