  Just a while ago I deleted the rte player app for the last time due to outstanding issues not been rectified and I will never return to using it, I now use the player directly from the rte website and sofar I have had zero issues, so that is the way forward then it seems, but still they advertise in a big red headline to use their free rte player app, answer to that one is well not it your dreams. Why can't rte just do us all a favour and withdraw it from service for good for refusing to fix it

  Currently watching Virginia media player live without no issues. Tried RTE player yesterday to watch a match for first time in ages as I gave up on it before due to constant adds and buffering. No change, still the same, constant buffering and too many adds. Been nearly a year now since they promised to fix these issues.

  Hands down the worst app ever built. How much public money was used to create and maintain it? I am trying to stream from my phone to TV but every time I open my phone it switches from rte1 to rte2. One of the many problems including the TV app etc. Better off pushing the self destruct button and build another one because this is woeful. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for building something so terrible and give your money back to the public who funded this.

  Since recent upgrade app only plays ads on adult programmes and then doesn't play choosen programme

  Had to roll back to previous version as I'm getting a "pipeline_error_decode: video decoder reinitialization failed" error when trying to watch live TV on some of my devices.
