Apar Drishti is an app which is designed considering the uncertainties during a crop cycle. It will help discover and monitor crop health, soil health and weather conditions. This will help prevent farmer’s loss and bring wealth and prosperity in their life. Matrices that can be recorded and analyzed on a regular time interval are:
• Normalized differentiated vegetation Index
The Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), a common remote sensing measurement, describing the difference between visible and near-infrared reflectance of vegetation cover. The NDVI values range from -1 to 1. Zero and below correspond to non-plant surfaces, thus focusing us solely at values 0-1, which correspond to vegetation areas. The higher the NDVI value the greater plants density and health.
Transforming multispectral NDVI data into a single image layer allows us to estimate the amount of present vegetation and crop development at the field scale.
• Enhanced vegetation index
The enhanced vegetation index (EVI) is an 'optimized' vegetation index designed to enhance the vegetation signal with improved sensitivity in high biomass regions and improved vegetation monitoring through a de-coupling of the canopy background signal and a reduction in atmosphere influences.
• Soil moisture
• Soil temperature at a depth of 10 cm
• Soil temperature on the surface.
These matrices help farmers to generate insight about crop health, irrigation need, detect favorable conditions for disease and pest.
