Black Pink (Hangul: 블랙 핑크), written in style as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆKPIИK, is a South Korean female singer group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of members such as Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa.
The group debuted on August 8, 2016, with their single titled Square One, which produced "Whistle," their first number one song in South Korea. The single also produced "Boombayah", their first number one single on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, which earned a record as the most watched debut music video by Korean artists. With their commercial success in the first five months, they obtained the New Artist of the Year at the 31st Golden Disc Awards and 26th Seoul Music Awards.
