The Health Lottery is not a national lottery. We operate on behalf of 12 Community Interest Companies (CICs), managing 12 society lotteries in rotation. Each is licensed by the Gambling Commission and represents multiple local authority areas across Great Britain – raising money for health-related good causes within their respective areas. Each month a different regional society takes a turn at participating in the draws so that every area in England, Scotland and Wales gets an appropriate share of the monies raised. Since inception in 2011, over £117 million has been raised for good causes through The Health Lottery – which has supported over 3,100 projects.
