TourRec

Description of TourRec

TourRec is a recommender system for personalized tourist trips helping you to easily explore new cities!
You can tell TourRec which types of attractions you like to adapt the recommendations to your needs. Indicate your starting point (e.g., your current location), your destination (e.g., your hotel), the starting time and the maximum duration of the route to receive a new route recommendation. TourRec then suggests a route which allows you to explore the city. The recommendations take external factors, such as the weather, into account. This facilitates your holiday planning and makes sure that you don't miss any points of interest!
TourRec requires the following permissions:
- Location (optional), in case you wish to set the start or end of a tourist trip to your current location.
- Internet and Network State, to communicate with the TourRec Backend and to check if an Internet connection is available.
TourRec is developed and provided by a team of researchers and students at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) (“we”). It is part of a research project aiming to improve the quality of tourist trip recommendations and the user experience of mobile recommender systems. We are looking forward to your feedback!
