پیامبر به حضرت علی (ع) فرمود: ” یا علی ! من سید عربم-مكه سید شهر هاست- كوه سینا سید همه كوه هاست – جبرئیل سید همه فرشتگان است – فرزندانت سید جوانان اهل بهشتند- قرآن سید همه كتاب هاست – بقره سید همه سوره های قرآن است – ودر بقره یك آیه است كه آن آیه ۵۰ كلمه دارد و هر كلمه ۵۰ بركت دارد و آن آیه الکرسی است.

پاداش كسی كه آیت الكرسی را زیاد می خواند
عبدالله بن عوف گفته است:” شبی خواب دیدم كه قیامت شده است و من را آوردند و حساب من را به آسانی بررسی كردند. آنگاه مرا به بهشت بردند و كاخ های زیادی به من نشان دادند. به من گفتند: درهای این كاخ را بشمار ؛ من هم شمردم ۵۰ درب داشت.
بعد گفتند: خانه هایش را بشمار. دیدم ۱۷۵ خانه بود. به من گفتند این خانه ها مال توست. آن قدر خوشحال شدم كه از خواب پریدم و خدا را شكر گفتم.
صبح كه شد نزد ابن سیرین رفتم و خواب را برایش تعریف كردم.
او گفت : معلوم است كه تو آیه الکرسی زیاد می خوانی. گفتم : بله ؛ همین طور است. ولی تو از كجا فهمیدی. گفت برای اینكه این آیه ۵۰ كلمه و ۱۷۵ حرف دارد. من از زیركی حافظه او تعجب كردم. آنگاه به من گفت : هر كه آیه الكرسی را بسیار بخواند سختی های مرگ بر او آسان می شود

در روایتی از امام باقر آمده است:” هر كس آیه الكرسی را بعد از هر نماز بخواند از فقر و بیچارگیدر امان شود و رزق او وسعت یابد و خداوند به او از فضل خودش مال زیادی بخشد.”
رسول اكرم فرمودندك هر كس آیه الكرسی را بعد از هر نماز واجب بخواند نمازش قبول درگاه حق می گردد و در امان خدا باشد و خداوند او را از بلاها و گناهان نگه دارد

پیامبر (ص) روایت كرده است كه فرمودند : ۵ چیز حافظه را قوی می گرداند: خوردن شیرینی – گوشت نزدیك گردن – عدس – نان سرد و خواندن آیت الكرسی
عالمی گوید : هر كه علم می خواهد بر پنج چیز مواظبت می كند:
۱- پرهیزكاری در آشكارا و پنهان ۲- خواندن آیه الکرسی ۳- همیشه با وضو بودن ۴- نماز شب خواندن حتی اگر دو ركعت باشد. ۵- غذا خوردن به منظور نیرو گرفتن نه شكم پر كردن.
