Description of DDC-Care

*** This application is for people who are at risk of getting COVID-19 and have registered through airport health control or hospital only. ***
DDC-Care has been developed under a collaboration between the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Thailand’s Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health. This application is only for people who enter Thailand or currently stay in Thailand and are identified by health personnel that they have a high risk of getting COVID-19 and need to be under self-quarantine. According to the Thai Communicable Disease Act 2015, people traveling from outbreak countries or areas or being in close-contact with confirmed patients are required to report their health conditions and locations for 14 consecutive days. Before using DDC-Care, a user must be registered by health personnel to create a username and password.
DDC-Care has the following functions:
1) Daily self-screening form: after a user reports his/her health conditions by answering a set of questions, the system will assess the user’s risk of being infected by COVID-19. If the user has a high risk of getting COVID-19, the system will recommend the user to contact health personnel immediately and provide necessary contact numbers that can be dialed directly from the application. The health personnel can also contact the user to check on his/her health condition using a video call feature.
2) User’s Journey page: DDC-Care creates the user’s journey or timeline automatically. If the user gets infected by COVID-19, this timeline will be used by health authorities to identify close contacts in order to contain the outbreak.
All information collected by the DDC-Care application will be used solely by authorized medical personnel from the Department of Disease Control of Thailand for the purposes of screening, monitoring, treatment, and disease control of COVID-19 only. The data collected will not be released to the public in any way that can identify the identity of a user.
