The smart energy meter Metron, developed by Klenergy Tech, is not a usual smart meter, which “only” helps you become more energy efficient.
In addition to allowing you to visualize, understand and improve your energy habits - and eventually, help you reduce your home’s electricity - it is also your gateway to Pylon Network: the first open-source, peer to peer, energy trading platform.
Pylon Network aims to unlock new opportunities for all players of the energy market, with the inclusion of consumers and distributed energy resources Pylon Network allows the certification, traceability, and payment of energy instantly, by leveraging the transparent, immutable nature of blockchain technology for the benefit and optimization of our energy systems.
Pylon Network’s blockchain algorithm is specifically designed for the needs of the energy sector and is integrated with the Metron devices, creating a real-time, energy data layer, which can adopt to all market structures.
The blockchain core code of Pylon is developed under an open-source license so that it can be integrated into any intelligent meter in the market (or any other smart device, like EV chargers, Bateries/storage units,
databases & datahubs).

Pylon Network is currently in the pilot stage, being tested with 100 Spanish consumers in partnership with the local energy cooperative, GoiEner.
This is the beta version of Metron’s dApp (distributed app) which allows the Metron owners, who participate in the demonstration of Pylon Network to:

Trust the system! - Certified electricity data and payments, recorded on Pylon’s blockchain
