What is Multiplication?
The shortcut of addition with equal terms is called multiplication.

The Story of the Multiplication Operation
After its invention, for a very long time, the story of multiplication, which was considered to have no faster method, changed in 1960 with a claim made by the Russian mathematician Anatoly Karatsuba.
The Karatsuba technique can be easily used when dealing with large numbers instead of two-digit numbers. The task here is to divide the original number into as many parts as the number has digits and replace the multiplication that requires many steps in almost every separation with addition and subtraction operations that require fewer steps.
Thus, the work done by multiplication in n2 steps, addition and subtraction is done in 2n steps and time is saved.
