"The best of you are those who study the Qur'an and teach it (to others)." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari)
Juz 'Amma, which is the 30th or the last juz of our holy book al-Qur'an, is the part we hear most and most often read. When we first learned to read the Qur'an in childhood, the first thing we learned was reading and memorizing the short letters contained in the Juz 'Amma. Moreover, most of the imams in the mosques read the shorter letters contained in the juz 'Amma, rather than reading the letters in other juz, either in full or in the form of letter fragments. So that the letters feel so familiar and familiar in our ears. Even many of us know the letters by heart.
Juz 'Amma is juz with the most number of letters. In it there are 37 letters. It starts with an-Naba 'letter and ends with an-Naas letter. Most of the letters, which are 34 letters, are Makkiyyah's letters, the letters that descend before the Prophet emigrated to Medina. The remaining three letters, namely al-Bayyinah, az-Zalzalah and an-Nashr are Madaniyyah letters, namely the letter that descended after the Messenger of Allah (SAW) in Hajrah to Medina.
The distinctive features of the Makkiyya letters include, the verse is short, the sentence is very beautiful and touching, high literature and full of unquestionably strong arguments that undermine the paradigm and the beliefs of the polytheists. Most of his remembrance reminds man of the power of Allah Ta'ala in the universe, the Hereafter, the encounter with God and the Day of Vengeance. All of that is contained in short verses, in a language so beautiful and very touching.
Besides that in Juz 'Amma there are many letters that have virtue. Among them are al-Ikhlash, al-Falaq, an-Naas and other lam-letters. About the letter of al-Ikhlas for example, Rasulullah Sholallahu Alaihi Wassalam said:
"By the Essence my soul is in His Hand, verily (Surat al-Ikhlash) is equal to one third of the Qur'an." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari).
Juz Amma is part of the last chapter in the Qur'an. Juz 30 is marked with the first word عم in Surah An-Naba father one and ends in Surah An-Naas father 6.
Most of the verses in Juz are short verses of the Makiyya surah.
