Goku Super Saiyan : Dragon Saiyan Fusion Fighting series plays like a typical 2-D fighting game.
The controls remain the same, but there are some additional functions that can be used during gameplay. The story mode gameplay features something similar.
There are 30 playable characters in most versions of the game and 135. All characters featured in the previous game are available in this game as well.
