Mythical stories tell that all the Goddess worshipped in whole India are part and parcel of Devi Parvati. Goddess Vindhyawasini is virgin. She is omnipotent and omnipresent. According to “Aushnas Purana” :
The famous “Neel Tantra” (Book) cites that holy river Ganga and Vindhyachal Mountain come together in present Vindhyachal town. That is why it is said that this is the real and arch place of Goddess Vindhyawasini.
The whole Vindhyachal region has its own importance. Here Maa Vindhyawasini dwells on the bank of holy river Ganga.
The “Markandey Purana” also describes about the religious importance of “Vindhyawasini Dham”. Vindhyachal is situated on “Shree Yantra” (Periapt). Pilgrims full of religious feeling receives celestial grace of Maa Vindhyawasini. Since Maa Vindhyawasini is worshipped by “Tantrik” (Saints) and “Vaishnava”, so Vindhyachal is traditionally supposed as “Shaktipeeth” as well as “Siddhapeeth”.
