Creative Fabric Bracelets Scraps

If you are a fabric “collector” then you know that it’s hard to toss any usable piece of fabric once you finish a sewing project. Every little fabric scrap is saved with hopes that one day that special project will come along and there will be a use for it. This is one of those projects: scrap fabric bracelets. Bust out your scrap bag, it’s time to put them to good use.
Supplies:
   scrap fabric
   sew-in interfacing
   scissors
   iron
   ribbon crimps
   lobster clasps
   jump rings
   pliers
   sewing machine and accessories
Measure
Use the ribbon crimps to determine how wide to cut your fabric strips. Add a 1/4 inch seam allowance on each side. For example, if using a 1/2 inch crimp, you'll want to add 1/2 inch to the width of the crimp. For the length of the fabric, use a strip of fabric (or measuring tape) to measure the circumference of your wrist and then add a 1/2 inch. The interfacing should be cut the same width as the ribbon crimps.
Cut
Cut two pieces of fabric and interfacing per bracelet. You can use different fabrics for the front and back so your bracelets will be reversible.
Sew
Center the strips of interfacing on the wrong sides of the fabric and sew down the middle. Repeat for the other side. Iron down the 1/4 inch seam allowances for both sides of the bracelets (the sides will meet up in the middle). Place your fabric strips right sides together, making sure all the edges are lined up and pin (if needed). Sew down each side of the bracelet.
Add Hardware
Place a crimp at each end of the bracelet. Use the pliers to flatten the crimps. Gently tug on the crimps to make sure they're attached well. Use the pliers to pull open the jump rings just enough to fit onto the ends of the crimps. Slide a lobster clasp onto one of the rings and close the ring with the pliers.
Wear
Wear one bracelet or stack them. These fabric bracelets make great gifts for tweens and grownups alike. Whenever your fabric stash gets out of hand, make a few bracelets and save them for gift giving.
