A mobile application is based on the language of Android programming and environment of
Android Studio. This project is designed for users to access English in an easier and funnier way. To
learn a language, practice if of great importance, therefore, we put forward an idea for users to
achieve a certain number of scores every day. To make it easier, the lessons are presented on
different topics such as family, animals etc and each of the topics will be divided into four parts
namely:
PRESENTING NEW WORDS:
- Pictures: On the screen there appear a picture with a word below and the meaning of the
word in native language (Korean) with the sound.
- Sentences: This part presents the words the users have learned in the ealier lessons.
PRACTICE;
- Speaking: The users click the sound button to listen to the word. Afterwards, they tap the
mic button to repeat the word. If right, the background is in green color, if wrong, it is in red color. If
the users need any help, press the light button, the word or sentences will come out. Ths will help
learning the meanings of the words through pictures with pronunciation and use.
- Listening: The users click the sound button to listen to the word or sentences. After listening
to the word, they write this word on the screen. If unclear, they could press the light button, the word
or sentences will come out. If correct, the background is in green color, if wrong, it is in red color.
- Translating: On the screen, there appear the sentences in a native language, the users have to
translate from their native language (Korean) into the English language. If right, the background is in
green color, if wrong, it is in red color.
TESTING
- When users begin this part, there will appear question by question and followed by 4
options with only one correct answer and there may be a picture. The time for each question is 30
seconds, after this period of time, the users can not choose the correct one, it is considered a failure.
The users choses one and click on it, they can submit it or wait till the end of the given period of time.
The application will check the answer. If correct, the background is in green color, if wrong, it is in
red color.
- The question types are varied as follow: choosing the words or sentences according to the
pictures, rearranging the words to make complete sentences or filling in the gaps with the missing
words.
