As of July 2022, Tether tokens are issued on ten protocols and blockchains.The tokens are issued by the Hong Kong company Tether Limited, which in turn is controlled by the owners of Bitfinex. Tether is called a stablecoin because it was originally designed to always be worth US$1.00, maintaining $1.00 in reserves for each tether issued. 1 USDT is designed to always be worth 1 US $. But let's understand the problem with a hypothetical example, suppose 1 USD = 79 INR and we want to buy USDT then we have to pay 8-10% premium on it's price, if USD is 79 INR then we have to pay approx 83-84 INR for 1 USDT.
