SWApp is based on DepEd Order no. 23, s. 2015 entitled “Student-led School Watching and Hazard Mapping”. This policy comes with a checklist for children to refer in the school watching activity. The said checklist was enhanced and translated into a child-friendly mobile application. The results of which will be linked to the School Disaster Risk Reduction Focal Person’s Portal. The data collected will be used by schools and division offices in crafting their School Improvement Plan (SIP) to include risk reduction and adaptation measures. With the advent of this application, thousands of paper sheets are replaced with simple, user friendly, quicker to manage mobile application.
