প্রতিটি নবজাতক তার স্বভাবজাত দ্বীন ইসলামের ওপর জন্ম গ্রহণ করে। অতঃপর তার মা-বাবা তাকে ইয়াহূদী, নাসারা অথবা অগ্নিপূজক হিসেবে গড়ে তোলে [সহীহ বুখারী: ১৩৫৮]।
আমাদের সমাজ ব্যবস্থা দিন দিন যেভাবে অপসংস্কৃতি, অনৈতিকতা এবং চরিত্র বিধ্বংসী কাজের দিকে ধাবিত হচ্ছে, সেখানে আমাদের সন্তানের উপর যেসব দায়িত্ব আছে তা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বের সাথে পালন করতে হবে। আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসূলের নির্দেশিত পন্থায় সন্তানকে লালন-পালন করা ঈমানের অন্যতম দাবী।
