What is Supercook?
Do you have only few ingredients at home and don’t know what to make?
Supercook is a recipe search engine that finds recipes you can make with the ingredients you currently have at home.
Supercook has indexed hundreds of thousands of recipes, so no matter what ingredients you have, Supercook has you covered.
For best results, make sure to tell Supercook about every ingredient you have at home. The more ingredients you add to Supercook, the better the recipes will be!
Supercook is also a practical way to save money. Take full advantage of ingredients you already have, and naturally buy less groceries.
How do I add my ingredients?
Adding your ingredients is done on the left side panel.
You can either type(list) your ingredients one by one, or you can use the category view. On category view, simply check off the ingredients you have on each category.
For best results, add all the ingredients you have in your home. The more ingredients you tell Supercook you have, the better the recipes will be.
How do I delete ingredients?
When you run out of an ingredient, make sure to delete it from Supercook. This way your recipe results will always be accurate and up to date.
If you choose the list view, click the red ‘trash’ icon next to any ingredient that you’d like to erase. If you’re on the category view, uncheck any ingredients you want to erase.
How do i delete all my ingredients and start over?
To delete all your ingredients, click the settings
icon on the top right. From the dropdown menu, choose “Delete all my ingredients”.
How do I find a recipe that uses a specific ingredient from my kitchen?
By default, Supercook mixes and matches your ingredients to find recipes that use as many of your ingredients as possible.
You can override this behaviour by using the "Key Ingredient" filter.
When you click the "Key Ingredient" filter, you will be able to select one (or more) of your ingredients from a list. Supercook will now make sure every recipe returned uses the ingredients you selected from the filter.
This is great way to find recipes to make with ingredients that will be expiring soon.
What are the “Suggested ingredients” on the bottom of my screen?
“Suggested ingredients” are the most useful ingredients Supercook thinks you should purchase. By analyzing your ingredients, exclusions and filters, Supercook figures out which ingredients would provide you with the best value.
The suggested ingredients list automatically updates to reflect any changes you make. For example, if you choose “Cakes” from the meal type filter, the suggested ingredients will contain ingredients you’re missing that would help you make many more cakes.
If you happen to have one of the suggested ingredients in your home, just click that ingredient and Supercook will automatically add it your list of ingredients. The results will update to reflect this new change.
