الدوالي أو باللغة الطبية Varicose veins، هي عبارة عن توسع وتضخّم والتفاف في الأوردة الموجودة في الساق غالباً، تقوم الأوردة بإعادة الدم من القدم إلى القلب بمساعدة عضلات القدم عكس الجاذبية الأرضية، فهناك صمامات في الأوردة تمنع رجوع الدم في الجهة العكسيّة، وعند حدوث الدوالي تفشل هذه الصمامات في منع الدم من الرجوع إلى الأسفل، وعادةً ما تكون الدوالي في الأوردة السطحية، وذلك لزيادة الضغط عليها، وغالبا ما تكون المشكلة جماليّة، وفي بعض الأحيان تكون الدوالي مؤلمة، وخصوصاً عند الوقوف؛ حيث يزيد الضغط في هذه الأوردة.
إنّ وجود الدوالي في الساقين هو عبارة عن مرض عرضي له أسباب معيّنة، ويمكن الشفاء منه عن طريق الأدوية، أو العملية الجراحية، ووجود الدوالي في الساقين مؤلم ومتعب، ويُسبّب الإجهاد للساقين لكنّه ليس تشوّهاً.
