Persija (abbreviation of the Football Association of Indonesia in Jakarta) is an Indonesian football club based in Jakarta. Persija is currently competing in the Champions Indonesia.
Persija was established on November 28, 1928, exactly one month after the Youth Pledge, the forerunner named Voetbalbond Indonesische Jacatra (VIJ). STX is one of the clubs who co-founded the Association of football of Indonesia (PSSI) with the participation of representatives of STX, Mr. Soekardi in the establishment of PSSI in Societeit Hadiprojo Yogyakarta on Saturday-19 April 1930.
The club is getting the most attention from former governor of Jakarta, Sutiyoso, who is the coach Persija. Support group called The Jakmania
