From an empty area you are required to form, build something to survive. You are also required to find food supplies.
Browse far to all of your areas, catch wild animals for farming, to supplement your food supply, find seeds, vegetables, plants or exchange / barter with local residents to get a new supply of food.
Be what you like ... you can choose to be: blacksmith, fisherman, farmer, mason, soldier who suits you, or do you want to be president? it is possible if you want to become president.
