The Vitality Netball World Cup 2023 will be the sixteenth staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The tournament will be held from Friday, 28 July to Sunday, 6 August at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa. This will mark the first time the tournament will be held in Africa.
The host city and venue was announced by the International Netball Federation (INF) on 8 March 2019, only months prior to the staging of the 2019 edition in Liverpool, England. Cape Town's bid, supported by the South African Government and the Western Cape province, was selected by the INF ahead of a bid by Auckland, New Zealand.[4] The INF stated the Cape Town bid would "deliver a greater impact on the development of global netball" and cited the pledges by the South African Government to invest heavily in preparation and development of the sport in the lead-up to the tournament
This will also mark the tournament's 60th anniversary, as it was founded in 1963.
The Netball World Cup 2023 (NWC2023) in Cape Town, South Africa will run from the 28th July to the 6th August, and will be the first to take place on the continent on Africa.
The Netball World Cup (NWC), previously known as the World Netball Championships, brings together the world’s top teams and represents netball’s flagship event. The event is showcased around the world through a range of broadcast partners introducing Netball to a whole new audience. World Netball Congress is also held alongside the event providing a global forum for Netball nations to come together, innovate, share ideas and celebrate women in sport.
The Netball World Cup 2023 will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from the 28th July to the 6th August 2023 at the International Convention Center.
16 teams will be battling it out across the 10 days, in the hope they will be crowned champions in netball’s most prestigious event.
Netball World Cup is almost upon us, and this is your chance to familiarise yourself with how it will all go down from 28 July to 6 August at the Cape Town ICC.
The 16 teams will take part in 60-matches on the two courts across the 10 days of competition and every match will be broadcast live on SuperSport on DStv.
The tournament comprises of three phases which include two group phases before the knockout and placing phase, from which the champion will emerge, and each team will be ranked from first to 16th.
