Ang AC machine ay mga motors na nag-convert ng Electric Energy sa makina at mga generators na nag-convert ng mekanikal na enerhiya sa AC Electric Energy.Ang dalawang pangunahing klase ng AC machine ay synchronous at induction machine.Ang kasalukuyang field ng mga kasabay na machine (motors at generators) ay ibinibigay ng isang hiwalay na pinagmulan ng kapangyarihan ng DC habang ang kasalukuyang field ng mga induction machine ay ibinibigay ng magnetic induction (transpormer action) sa field windings.
