AwayZone is a location based travel app aimed at connecting small businesses to consumers who are seeking specialized cultural goods and services in unfamiliar areas. The app links businesses to the following consumers:
Families relocating to a new area who are seeking culture-specific products, services, experiences, and meeting places
The business traveler looking to fill their free time with culturally specific events, programs, and entertainment
A college student who wants to find people who share their beliefs, values and cultural experiences.
The vacation traveler who seeks tours, education and emersion experiences, devoted to exploring various aspects of historical references, culture and heritage
Adoptive parents of ethnic children wanting to keep their child(ren) engaged with their heritage
Our mission is to create an environment that connects small- and mid-sized businesses to expatriates, business travelers, college students, tourists and transracial families seeking culturally specific goods and services in new and unfamiliar cities.
AwayZone will provide those businesses with a mechanism that provides access to new customers and create brand awareness for culturally specific goods and services. AwayZone will also close the information gap experienced by many racial, ethnic and religious minorities when attempting to locate the products, goods, services and people that meet their culturally specific needs when they are in new locations.
The AwayZone Community will support small- and mid-sized businesses by:
Demonstrating community support while traveling to new cities
Increase the visibility for the business owners and service providers of cultural traditions, aesthetics and social practices
Promote inclusion for all minority groups in the US
