بتوفيق من الله عز وجل تيسر لنا في هذا الكتاب أن نجمع ما تفرق من صور آثار النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أو العهدة الشريفة، ومنها متعلقات شخصية للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، احتفظت بها مصر في مسجد أثر النبي بجنوب القاهرة. وقد ظلت المتعلقات في هذا القصر حتى وقع الفتح العثماني عام 1516 حين هزم السلطانُ العثماني "سليم الأول" السلطان المملوكي "قانصوه الغوري" وقتله في معركة "مرج طابق" ثم أعدم "طومان باي" إثر معركة "الريدانية" ودخل القاهرة وأسر "المتوكل الثالث"، خليفة المسلمين، وأخذه إلى "إسطنبول" ومعه كل أثر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم. وفي "إسطنبول"، وافق "المتوكل على الله" على أن يتنازل عند موته للسلطان العثماني عن لقب "خليفة المسلمين" ومعه آثار الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ومنها سيفه وبردته. وبموت "المتوكل" عام 1534، انتقلت الخلافة الإسلامية إلى العثمانيين لتمكث في دولتهم حتى 1924. وقد خصص العثمانيون القصر الثالث في قصر "طوپ قپو" لعرض المتعلقات، وما زالت هناك حتى اليوم. يضاف إلى ذلك بعض متعلقات النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الموجودة في عدة متاحف وأماكن من البلاد الإسلامية كالمدينة المنورة ومكة المكرمة ومصر وليبيا وغيرها، وقد حرصنا في هذا الكتاب على نقل كل صور الآثار المنسوبة إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
ونشكر جميع إخواننا اللذين ساهموا في إمدادنا بهذه الصور الشريفة في كل من المغرب وتركيا وسوريا والأردن وفلسطين ومصر وليبيا والمدينة المنورة ومكة المكرمة، و نسأل الله عز وجل أن يتجاوز عنا إن أخطأنا أو أسأنا، والله تعالى من وراء القصد وهو يهدي السبيل.
