Sibiu City Stories

City Stories / Discovering History is a free of charge audio guide app that invites the listener to walk* through Sibiu lead by the application's map while listening to 23** stories about monuments of cultural heritage, places with interesting personal histories or contemporary art works.
Five young writers from Sibiu have created unique stories about 20 established or less well-known tourist attractions of the city, while preserving the historical and geographical rigor of details.
Two talented actors borrowed their voices to bring to life some fictional or real characters such as: an employee of Baron Brukenthal's suite, the famous Eyes of the City, a pharmacist, a historical character who was part of the Masonic lodge, a tree from Under the Alders Park, a cat who lives in the Astra Museum, the pencil that drew the plans of the Museum of Natural History, a wall of defense, the clock from the Jesuit Church tower and many other surprising protagonists.
Three participative works of contemporary art are explained by their authors, the internationally acclaimed artists from Sibiu Lia and Dan Perjovschi. Their texts are read by the same two young actors.
The stories of Sibiu have both literary and documentary value.
* 21 of the targeted places can be reached within one hour walk and they are located in the historic center. Under the Alders Park is in the neighborhood. Astra Museum can be visited separately.
